Does my class reset after an escape?

No. A class stays unlocked. Equip one of the classes you own before the next run. Toilet Paper does not carry over.

What should I buy first?

Energizer at 250 Diamonds if you are still learning the dig. Speedster at 100 Diamonds if you are dying in the Janitor office or on the roof. Save toward Bargainer at 900 Diamonds for repeat clears.
