Endings

Rooftops ending

Spend 300 Toilet Paper on the Illegal Keycard and Crowbar, open the kitchen vent, and reach the red helicopter.

Rooftops ending

Spend 300 Toilet Paper on the Illegal Keycard and Crowbar, open the kitchen vent, and reach the red helicopter.

Rooftops is the third documented finish. It was announced for December 14, 2025, and walkthroughs dated December 17, 2025 describe it as playable. You still buy the Illegal Keycard, then a Crowbar, and you leave through the kitchen vent into a roof chase that ends at a red helicopter. The listed reward is 15 Diamonds and the Rooftops Escape badge.

A summary that calls this the Kitchen ending is the same route: 200 Toilet Paper for the keycard and 100 for the Crowbar. It is not a separate fourth success ending. The helicopter is the end of this chase, not its own ending.

Cost

Hold 300 Toilet Paper before you start opening doors, or hold 200, buy the keycard, and farm the next 100 without spending the card early. Speedster helps the roof jumps. Bargainer lowers both purchases if you would rather save Toilet Paper than movement speed.

Farm the upper layers the same way as the Janitor route. Do not sink the 150 Toilet Paper tool path into this run unless you are also practicing Mineshaft.

Two written routes into the vent

The shared steps:

  1. During the day, use the keycard on the kitchen door. It is described on the left side of the cafeteria, next to the chef, and it is a different door from Security.
  2. Buy the Crowbar from the chef in the kitchen who is standing with a frozen head. The price is 100 Toilet Paper. He is not one of the four hallway traders, and he does not sell the crowbar before the kitchen door is open.
  3. The vent ahead is boarded. Break the boards with the Crowbar.
  4. Crawl through. Open the roof door. A scene drops the guard in behind you, and the chase starts with little time to look around.
  5. Jump the gaps, use sparkles to pick the landing, and keep moving until you reach the red helicopter.

The ladder step is not in every writeup. One route sends you back to Security for the same ladder used in the Janitor ending, then places that ladder under the kitchen vent. Another route says the boards are on a vent above crates inside the freezer and does not mention the ladder. If the vent is too high to reach, get the Security ladder. If the boards are already in reach, the Crowbar is the tool that opens them.

After the vent, one description comes out in a cleaning-supply room and a hallway. Another comes out facing an office with stairs on the right. Follow the stairs up to the roof door either way.

The chase

This run is harder than the mineshaft sprint because of the jumps. Players report dying on the last gap and getting no time to prepare when the door opens. Missing the helicopter means doing the Toilet Paper farm again. There is no published checkpoint on the roof.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Dig to Escape have working codes?

No. Walkthroughs through 2026 describe no Codes or Redeem control, and no code string has been published for this experience. Toilet Paper is earned by selling items inside a run. Diamonds are earned from escape progress and stay on the account.

How many endings are there?

Three success endings are documented: Mineshaft (dig to the bottom and run the tunnel), Janitor (Illegal Keycard, ladder, and 12 batteries), and Rooftops (the same keycard plus a 100 Toilet Paper Crowbar, then a roof chase to a red helicopter). A Kitchen ending mentioned in some summaries is that Rooftops route, not a fourth finish.

What is Toilet Paper used for?

Toilet Paper is the run currency. Sell items you dig up, then buy shovels, sacks, food, dynamite, the Illegal Keycard, and the Crowbar. It does not carry into the next run. Diamonds are the account currency used on the lobby Classes NPC.

Which class should a new account buy?

Energizer (250 Diamonds, digging costs 20 percent less energy) is the cheaper general first buy. Bargainer (900 Diamonds, 20 percent off shop prices) saves the most Toilet Paper once you can afford it. Buy Speedster (100 Diamonds, 25 percent faster movement) first only when you are practicing the Janitor or Rooftops chase.

What happens if the guard catches you?

Being caught in the halls at night ends the run. Keep your own cell door closed while you dig. Do not hide in another prisoner's cell. One reference says a guard kill can be revived once; a player comment says the chase itself cannot be revived. There is no developer note that settles that.
